Orpheus, Inc. was founded in 2014 by Benjamin Portman after many years as an IT specialist. While working for a large enterprise, Benjamin worked directly with VMware’s professional services to develop custom vCenter Orchestrator workflows and deploy vCloud Automation Center (now vRealize Automation). On a separate project, Benjamin created his own custom orchestration tools that rivaled the capabilities of vRealize. He began to see that the value of orchestration could be harnessed by small and medium businesses too. He decided to start a company to deliver that value.
