Partha Sarathi Bhowmick’s contribution to a project’s success goes beyond building what he is asked to provide. Clearly, he is a very experienced engineer and application designer who voluntarily takes a proactive part to understand what his task is intended to deliver. When he senses the possibility of a more comprehensive/robust approach to solving the problem than the specification which was provided to him offers, before he wastes anyone’s time and money coding something that he suspects is problematic, he does not hesitate to bring his concerns for review to the project manager.
As a fellow engineer and former commercial software applications designer, I have great respect for Partha reflexively incorporating an excellent sense of due diligence into the (VBA) code. This skill arises from insightfulness gained from having internalized lessons from many successful, and sometimes unsuccessful, projects . His due diligence catches potentially fatal errors before they inadvertently introduce chaos into complex systems by halting the processing, notifying the system user of the problem, and preventing irrational garbage from being propagated into subsequent down-line activities which are dependent upon his work to be valid and reasonable.
He communicates very well via electronic mail messages and telephone calls. To clarify complex processing issues, he takes nothing for granted and poses specific examples so that there will be no surprises when his code is delivered to the project manager.
Partha is always very responsive to my inquiries and, as protection for both of us, he confirms in writing what is expected to appear in his code. Without exception, it has been my experience that having what can be described as an investment in a partnership among all parties, inherently yields a superior outcome over what frequently happens when the person doing the coding is only acting in the role of an order-taker rather than as an active participant in the thought process. I am beyond delighted to have worked with Partha and hope to do so again.
