Independent Interactive Systems Research Consultant
systems like interactive installations, video games, web and mobile applications. As a researcher, I'm currently finishing my PhD in Digital Media in the context of the UTAustin|Portugal program, developing better tools for the collaborative design of distributed interactive systems.
I have a background is in Computer Science with post-graduate specialisations in Computer Graphics, Virtual Environments and Digital Art. Combining agile development, creative coding, interaction design, hardware prototyping and digital fabrication, my goal is to translate creative visions into reality.
In the past I've worked on projects in film animation, video games, web applications, mobile applications, simulation, system administration, data visualization, immersive virtual reality clusters, tangible interfaces, interactive installations, and I'm always eager to tackle my next challenge. As a Free Software and Free Culture activist, I've also worked with my clients to integrate available solutions, engage the community and give back as much of the work as possible.
My current interests lie on building disruptive socio-technical structures for participatory culture, coding as a form of fundamental literacy, the appropriation of videogame technology and concepts for expressive purposes, open-source digital fabrication, and do-it-yourself hardware/software musical tools.
