Rachael has lived and practised illustration in Singapore, the south of England and is now based in Perth, Western Australia. The use of colour in her work has been inspired by the vibrant environment of Singapore's multicultural society and their many different festivities. Originally Rachael worked with traditional media creating illustrations with textures, sketching in pencil and painting in gouache. More recently, she has discovered the magic of a digital pen and taken to using the computer to collage photographic, hand drawn, painted images and textures together to create intricate, textured digital illustrations for children's books, greetings cards, magazines and prints.
