I'm Rakibul. Been in WordPress dev for around 4 years now. Currently Senior Developer and Team Lead at a digital agency, overseeing around 8-10 projects running across the team at any given time while personally handling the more complex or custom parts myself. Also mentor a couple of junior devs. Somewhere along the way I crossed 150+ websites delivered, e-commerce, corporate sites, service-based businesses, a bit of everything really.
Honestly what I like about this job is that nothing repeats itself much. Building a booking system for a clinic and setting up automation for an online store are basically two different jobs wearing the same "WordPress" label. Figuring out what actually fits each situation is the part that doesn't get boring.
Team lead role changed how I explain things too, clients aren't developers so I stopped talking in dev-speak years ago. Also got better at spotting problems early, fixing something at planning stage is way cheaper than fixing it after launch, learned that one the hard way a few times.
Taking on a few freelance projects now alongside the agency work. Mostly clients in Europe and US, so I'm fine working across time zones, used to it by now.
Work Terms
A few things about how I work:
Communication: I respond within 24 hours on working days. For active projects, I prefer clear written updates over long calls, but I'm happy to hop on a call when something needs real-time discussion.
Project Scope: Before starting any project, I like to fully understand the requirement first. If something is unclear, I'll ask questions upfront rather than guessing, this saves time for both of us later.
Payment: For larger projects, I prefer milestone-based payment tied to specific deliverables. For smaller or hourly work, standard terms apply. Any change in scope after work has started will be discussed and quoted separately before proceeding.
Revisions: Reasonable revisions related to the original agreed scope are included. Requests outside the original scope will be treated as additional work.
Timeline: I provide realistic timelines based on project complexity and stick to them. If any delay is expected, I'll communicate it as early as possible rather than staying quiet.
Support: After project delivery, I offer a short support window to fix any issues directly related to the delivered work. Ongoing maintenance beyond that is available separately if needed. Also, I provide a free guidelines video for managing the website in the future.
I take on a limited number of projects at a time so I can give each one proper attention rather than spreading myself too thin. If that means I can't start immediately, I'll be upfront about the timeline.
