About

I love what I do and I want it to show. Cows give milk, I draw, it's what I do.

I have drawn since I was old enough to hold a pencil. People have been my favorite subject matter, I don't like to draw the person, but rather the personality. Thus, caricature was the perfect venue for me. I have drawn caricatures professionally since 1988. I love how each person can played with and even if you have drawn them 50 times there is always a new angle, or look to them.
I now work primarily in Photoshop because it allows me to get all the details I like to have in a piece. Plus it allows for quick alterations depending on a clients needs.
Being an illustrator is an incredible life, being able to express yourself and share your skills with so many is really fantastic. I have enjoyed working with clients and taking an idea they have and bringing it to life, with the hope that it will exceed their imagination. That's one of the best parts of my job, when a client says, " wow, that's even better than I thought it could be". It's not always easy, but it's the right thing to do, and that's what matters.
I was taught by my Father that you do things so well that you're willing to put your name on it, and that's the mentality I have every time I start a new project. I feel lucky to do what I do, and I am not afraid of hard work. I strive to make the client happy, and if that means changes have to be made, then so be it. I take direction well and see criticism as a way to get better.
People work hard for their money, and I believe that you should give them more for their money than an average job. I want each one of my pieces to be the best I can do for them.
I didn't graduate from an art school or college. What you see in my portfolio comes from years of hard work. My work is the result of a desire in me to improve my skills on a daily basis. I will continue to look for ways to grow as an artist and produce the type of work my clients love and want to share.

Work Terms

I am available via my e-mail address: richconleyart@yahoo.com 24 hours a day. I check my e-mail frequently and find it the easiest way of contacting me.
I accept check, credit cards and Paypal for payment of work.
I have come to be know as the "last minute artist" for the number of projects I've done in a matter of hours for clients. Although not my preferred choice, I know that pressure isn't an issue and I can handle it.
