Rita Moldão is graduated in Theatral Singing by the Conservatório Superior de Música de Gaia, in Portugal, in the class of Fernanda Correia. She developed her studies in Madrid with Elisabete Matos and with Francesco Pio Galasso. Throught her training, she participated in masterclasses with names like Raina Kabaiwanska, Enza Ferrari, Charles Spencer, Hilde Zadek, Fernanda Correia and Elisabete Matos.
Rita Moldão made her debut in 2003 as Susana in “Le nozze di Figaro”of Mozart in a production of Gaia Music Festival (Portugal) with the Beiras Orchestra. One year later she was Le Feu, La Princese and Le Rossignol from “L’enfant et les sortileges” of Ravel. Also performed Die Königin der Nacht in “Die Zauberflöte” and Bastienne in “Bastian und Bastienne” both operas by Mozart, Lucy in Menotti’s ”The telephone” and Princesa in “El gato con Botas” from Montsalvatge.
She has performed many concerts and recitals, chamber music and sacred music, a repertoire that includes Exultate Jubilate, Coronation Mass and Missa brevis in G maggior from Mozart, The Messiah (Handel), Saint Cecilia Mass (Gounod), Gloria (Vivaldi) and Carmina Burana (C. Orff). One of the concerts of the Saint Cecilia Mass in with she participated was the target of a broadcast television channel, TVI, in the year 2007. She also premiered the work Christmas Cantata for orchestra, chorus and soloist, by the composer and organist Rui Soares.
She also collaborated with renowned conducters as Mário Mateus (Portugal), Jairo Grossi (Portugal), Nayden Todorov (Bulgaria), Lawrence Golan (USA), Berislav Skenderovic (Croatia), Ovidio Marinescu (USA), among others.
Rita Moldão has been presented in numerous concerts in Portugal, Spain, Cabo Verde, St. Tomé and Prince and USA with piano recitals, concerts with orchestra, opera galas and sacred music.
