About

I provide quality, expedient work in a variety of areas, and promise an expedient product.

I have been working in the robotics field for several years now. I am a PhD candidate in Mechanical Engineering with Virginia Tech's TREC lab, where I specialize in software and controls for walking robots and exoskeletons. I am also currently a visiting research with the Institute of Human and Machine Cognition in Pensacola, Florida. Some of my experiences include helping develop the walking algorithms used by TREC for the Office of Naval Research's Shipboard Autonomous Firefighting Robot program and as an entrant in the 2015 DARPA Robotics Challenge Finals. I am currently developing a unique fully-actuated balancing exoskeleton with Virginia Tech, involving both the mechanical, software, and control design, and am writing the control algorithms and software for IHMC's exoskeleton entrant into the 2016 Cybathlon.

My work with robotics involves extensive software and algorithm development, primarily in Lua, C++, Java, and ROS. I also have experience writing in C, Matlab, Python, and a variety of other languages. I also work extensively with hardware interfaces and implementation, and have a wealth of experience with debugging electromechanical issues. Additionally, I have experience with the electromechanical design of robotics system, including parts design and hardware requirements and selection.

Some of my experience beyond my lab work includes working as an engineer in several facilities including Y-12 National Security Complex, Shaw Carpets, and Flowserve, as well as experience using CNC mills, laser cutters, additive manufacturing, and electronic component manufacturing.

Work Terms

I can provide up to 10 hours of work a week. Hours beyond that are negotiable if required at the time of hiring. Payment type is dependent on the requested job. Contact through email is preferred.
