I’ve been building systems since before I had language for them.

I’m Sam — a systems architect with over 30 years of experience building durable digital infrastructure ahead of industry adoption.

including codebases built through careless AI use that ignored accessibility,
maintainability, scale, or long-term coherence.

I live embedded with the U.S. Forest Service as a caretaker of our national forests.
I don’t chase gigs. I hold ecosystems.

Work Terms

Communication:
I maintain clear, direct communication throughout the project. I am proactive in identifying issues and solutions. I expect the same clarity in return — assumptions, vague instructions, and mission drift must be minimized for best results.

Engagement:
I work independently with strategic checkpoints. I do not require constant oversight. Collaboration is welcome where it is clean and purposeful, not chaotic.

Deliverables:
I deliver completed, stable solutions — not partial or unstable work. Milestones will be defined clearly before the project begins or at each project phase as needed.

Availability:
I operate based on project requirements and client timezone needs where practical. Emergency response available by agreement.

Payment Terms:
Standard: 50% milestone deposit upon project start, balance upon completion.
For smaller projects under $300, full payment upon delivery is acceptable.
For longer engagements, milestone payments will be structured cleanly to protect both parties.

Revisions:
Reasonable revisions are included within the scope of the original project description.
Scope changes require new agreements to prevent misalignment.

Field Integrity:
Projects that require unethical behavior, violate platform terms of service, or compromise system security without authorization are automatically declined.
