Experienced leader in health informatics and information management.

Troy graduated from the University of Alabama at Birmingham (UAB) with a BS in Health Information Management (2007) and subsequently an MS in Health Informatics (2010). Troy is a Registered Health Information Administrator (RHIA) and Certified Health Data Analyst (CHDA) as credentialed by the American Health Informaiton Management Association (AHIMA).

Currently, Troy works for the US Department of Veterans Affairs’ Veterans Health Administration (VHA) Central Office as a specialist in Health Information Management. He has 15 years of experience within the VA as a Health Systems Specialist for Central Office, as Chief of Health Information Management for the VA Connecticut Healthcare System, and as a Data Analyst.

Troy was recently a Commissioner on the Commission on Certification for Health Informatics and Information Management (CCHIIM), and has served on the Board of Directors of the Connecticut Health Information Management Association (CtHIMA), and is adjunct faculty in Health Information Management for Herzing University.

Outside of professional life, Troy and his partner are foster parents and enjoy hiking, camping, and the outdoors wih their children and two beages. Troy also serves on the Leadership Council of his church.
