About

I seek opportunities to assist others by combining my writing and editing skills with my experience in project management.

I have always had a passion for languages and writing. After earning a BA in English, I went abroad to teach English in Japan. I also earned my first degree black belt while there.

Upon returning to the U.S., I applied my language skills as a technical writer, and eventually managed the department. While working, I earned an MA in English. I moved to a consulting firm which specialized in intercultural communication. I transitioned from consulting to writing proposals, training materials and marketing materials to finally managing the publishing department.

My project management skills took me to my next job as a project coordinator at Visa International. Within two years I was promoted to director. During my time at Visa, I continued writing business documents – service level agreements, training materials, correspondence, and personnel documents.

I left Visa when we moved to the Sacramento. I worked as a communications assistant at the California Healthcare Association. There I was responsible for all membership correspondence and helped edit the online member newsletter.

Next it was time for motherhood! My husband and I decided that I would stay home to raise my two children. During these years I worked as a professional organizer, helping individuals and businesses organize their space and time. I also volunteered for seven years on the Sacramento Children’s Home Guild, raising money to support the Home.

Now I am back to my passion, writing and editing. I work freelance so I can focus on writing, but I have found my background in project management and business invaluable. Attention to detail, organizational skills, and a customer service philosophy of always following through have helped make me a valuable resource for my clients.

I enjoy spending time with my family. I continue my practice of karate and am currently a third degree black belt. My other passions are scrapbooking, reading, traveling and studying languages.

Work Terms

Available weekdays and some weekends.
My hourly rate is $30.00.
