About

I have a passion for discovering and interpreting the analytics that drive better business decision making from a financial perspective across all organizational functions and departments.

In the corporate world my last full-time position was as the finance manager at a mid-sized, private equity-backed geospatial IT consulting firm called Critigen. Though my title was finance manager, by the end of my tenure I was the top finance person in the company, a member of the executive team, reported directly to the CEO, and shared responsibility for the finance/accounting function with the controller. I oversaw the finance and contracts teams.
At a PE-owned firm I had the unique position of both being the lead on day-to-day financial modeling, planning and reporting throughout the organization as well as working on M&A opportunities for our investors. This role allowed me to have a 360 degree perspective on the value that finance provides internally and externally, from owner to junior project manager. On the M&A side, Critigen was an asset carve-out from CH2M Hill. I was the first new finance and accounting hire to the organization in 2009 as the finance and accounting function was stood up for this new stand-alone business. Subsequently, I had many opportunities to work on many potential deals. In 2014 Critigen sold the assets of its non-core IT managed business and I was involved from cradle-to-grave in helping get the deal done. In 2015 the remaining company was sold. Again I was involved from the initial interest gauging phase through closing and continued with the company in supporting the financial direction of the new ownership.
I resigned (voluntarily) from my full-time position with Critigen in September 2015 though I still consult for them. I decided to leave to focus on finishing out my dual master's program (MBA & MS Business Analytics) and build my independent financial and analytics consulting business. I graduate in December 2015.
Though my corporate experience is in finance I have an overarching passion for analytics. I enjoy creating data-driven insights that drive more enlightened decision making.

Work Terms

My hours are flexible. I can work at a T&M rate by hour or day. However, in many cases, I'm open to lower base rates on the front-end w/ project completion or deal completion incentives on the back-end.
