I am an accounting and financial professional with broad experience in Big 4 auditing, accounting, reporting, project management, tax compliance and corporate administration. I specialize in developing blue sky visions into tangible action plans. I'm an active CPA and is seeking a dynamic opportunity that offers challenge and versatility.

My background includes working in a variety of industries, including construction, not-for-profit, wealth management and real estate. I have experience as Finance Director for a global firm’s North America operations and has overseen various aspects of accounting, human resources, tax strategies and corporate administration. Additionally, my passion and extensive experience assisting start-up divisions and companies with the establishment of newly formed departments, procedures and internal controls. Shanel also is co-founder of a youth track organization and is responsible for all administration, budgeting and tax compliance for the 300 member group.

In addition to her accounting skills, Shanel has led diversity and inclusion efforts and launched Employee Resource Groups. Shanel is proficient in Oracle, Hyperion, Great Plains and QuickBooks accounting systems. She also is proficient in Excel, PowerPoint and has advanced knowledge of creating a professional social media presence.

Shanel is a Certified Public Accountant, licensed in the Commonwealth of Virginia and has a Bachelor’s of Arts in Accounting from the Eli Broad College of Business at Michigan State University.

In my free time, I love relaxing, traveling and entertaining.
