Highly creative designer who can provide vision and lead a design team. Strong merchandising knowledge and communication skills. Technical skills and fabric sourcing knowledge. Responsible for concept development of small to very large collections, sketching, fabric and trend for various markets, can oversee all aspects of design, provide direction to design assistants, pattern-makers, sample makers and production factories overseas. Strong illustration, flat and detailed sketch ability both freehand and computer aided. Able to handle preliminary fittings, communicate ideas and vision to staff, able to identify current market trends, and competitors. Strong pattern-making, fit and grading experience, ability to fit on live models or dress form mannequins. Perform detail flat garment drawings and specifications, communicate pattern corrections with domestic and overseas vendors, develop and review fabric construction and standards, inspect first sample as well as final production samples, knowledge of product development and procedures, knowledge of various CAD systems, able to work closely with factories and oversee quality, track pieces from conception to completion, understanding of garment construction. Able to work well with timelines and large volume projects.
Work Terms
50% OF PROJECT MUST BE PAID BEFORE STARTING DESIGN WORK, IF PROJECT IS VERY LARGE WE CAN COME TO AN AGREEMENT FOR PAYMENT
