I love drawing and writing works for children. I grew up loving classic Victorian-era children's books and poetry but I'm also a fan of wacky cartoons. I try to combine the two sensibilities in my work. It's important to me that my books and apps are not only entertaining but also serve an educational purpose. I especially enjoy literary education and stories about holidays.I use a combination of hand-drawn and digital techniques to achieve the look of my art. I tend to draw my art on paper with pencil and ink, and then digitally color it. My favorite tools are Photoshop and Manga Studio on desktop and Procreate on iPad.Creating apps is also a passion of mine. I've developed around a dozen children's apps. For these apps I create all the art, music, sound effects and animation myself. I've designed apps using two different sets of tools: Corona SDK and web apps with HTML & JavaScript. Both have their advantages.My home studio is located in Los Angeles, California, where I live with my three cats.
