Hi, I'm Stephen. I was born and raised in Milford, Nebraska and graduated high school with aspirations of becoming a mechanical engineer. Nervous to make the move to Rapid City instead of Lincoln - the usual choice for Milford grads - I enrolled in the undergraduate mechanical engineering program at the South Dakota School of Mines and Technology. Here I spent countless late nights studying and developing lasting friendships which were key to shaping the person, and professional, I am today.
Just prior to graduating I was given the option to continue my education through SDSMT's new accelerated master's degree program, and I humbly accepted. Working under Dr. Duane Abata and with industry expert Kevin Carlin I completed the degree in 2014 and eagerly began my engineering career in Sheridan, Wyoming.
For the next four years, I grew and honed my skills as a product development engineer, often traveling across the country to see gas compression sites and meet with new customers. I learned about engine control and exhaust products which placed me in a critical role as EMIT transformed its product portfolio.
Despite a prolific career in Sheridan, it is now time for the next phase in my professional development. I've relocated to Aurora, Colorado, and I'm seeking employment as a mechanical engineering consultant.
