About

Friendly Computer Services at a Reasonable Rate!

Technically, I've been doing technical support since I first started using Apple IIe's at an international school in India back in the mid-80's; I was the computer monitor! This extended into college as the resource for software/antivirus assistance in the 90's, followed my first real job building and remotely supporting computer systems. I worked as a software engineer for about 11 years, and have been traveling since 2002. Since then, I've been helping friends and family remotely with their IT issues, with a few short gigs in between at small companies.

I have reasonably good knowledge about Windows & iOS, which is what I use, and Macs & Androids, which I am familiar with. If I'm not familiar with a problem, I can usually research it, and come up with a solution. I'm also very good at determining how to provide solutions for everyday tasks, and clients a way to accomplish them with the least amount of work. After all, computers should be solving problems and making life easier, instead of being the problem!

I start by asking the client what their problems are. Coming to me with a list is the best way approach. I prioritize what I believe to be the important issues, the ones that will take longest to fix, the ones that we can accomplish quickly, and sometimes, the ones that can't be addressed within the scope of the job. Not all problems can be fixed easily, so clients ought to be patient from the onset. You can read my website and see where I have

I like to rock climb, so most of my time is spent pursuing that. I have traveled extensively across the USA and India, having climbed and visited many famous spots If you like, you can look at my picture as well as read my blog!

Work Terms

I mostly fix computer problems remotely, if I am able to log into your computer. I charge $10/hour for this service. You will need to install a small, third-party, remote-assistance program, which allows me to take over your computer remotely. I have had a lot of success using this.

I am willing to travel anywhere in the local area. I charge $30 for the first hour and $20/hour thereafter for onsite assistance. Travel costs may apply, and I will let you know once I know the distance.

These are very REASONABLE RATES! I don't believe it is necessary to charge people upwards of $50/hr or more to fix home computers. This does not mean a job will be in the 1-2 hour range, but you will not be paying the $90-150/hr that local computer businesses charge for home visits; where their usual solution is to reinstall your operating system, losing your setup, and maybe even your data; regularly at Apple! Because of the millions of ways that a computer or network can be setup, it is hard to tell what the scope of a job will be, so it is hard to give an estimate as to how long it will take. This is not a lack of experience, but better than starting off with quoting high prices!
