Comedy writer who takes writing seriously

Most of my formal experience in writing and editing is from school, which is now 10 years ago. That being said, I have spent the last few years writing three to six page comedy sketches. I have first hand experience seeing writing through from brainstorming, through drafting and collaborative editing, to a completed product for an audience.

Relevant experience:

Performer/ Writer 2010-Present
• Write sketches and perform with comedy troupes 'Daft Agenda' and 'Gypsies, Stamps & Bees.'
• Guest writer and performer for 'The Ruckus.'
• Performed in several festivals including Geek Week, Boston Comedy Arts Festival, Women in Comedy Festival, and the North Carolina Comedy Arts Festival.

Dreamfar High School Marathon Mentor Program Coordinator, 2009-2011
• Created policies and procedures for a volunteer running program.
• Sent out communications to volunteer staff and coordinate meetings.
• Recruited and maintained relationships with program mentors.
• Ran with and trained high school students for the Providence Marathon.

Chronicle Internship, 2004
• Completed a 5-month internship as an office assistant for the nightly television news show Chronicle
• Assisted producers with field shoots and logged footage of shoots and nightly footage in central database
• Researched ideas and data for new shows, including contacting subjects for prospective shows, conducting Internet research, viewing archived footage and news tapes
• Performed a wide range of administrative duties including updating scripts, handling viewer requests for additional information on previously aired or upcoming shows and requests for copies of shows

Copy Editor, The Summit 2003-2004
• Wrote multiple articles for Editorial and Feature departments on topics relating to campus events
• Copy edited the student-run newspaper for grammatical accuracy and adherence to the style guide

Work Terms

I work full time, but with frequent downtime. I am free to work on assigned work primarily on weekends and evenings.
