Théotime, this is no joke, that's my name. A name born from the creativity of a French librarian mother who early in my youth plunged me into her world: literature and languages.
My route seemed traced, but I obtained a Bachelor's Degree in a distinct domain, in the UK, and then, a MBA in France. I actually specialised in Business, Marketing and Management.
At the end of the day, I studied and worked 3 years in the UK and Ireland, but also lived in Spain and Latin America for 2 years. Consequently, I benefit from an outstanding cultural knowledge which definitely allows me to provide the best cultural insights to your project.
Additionally, I have worked in Procurement for 5 years, writing and translating on a day-to day basis Commercial and Technical content in English, French and Spanish within 3 industries.
Through sourcing project management, I have developed strong organisational, interpersonal and writing skills, which will be key for our interaction and the success of your project. Working under pressure, on tight timelines, has been my everyday life for 5 years and I have to admit I somehow miss it.
My professional and personal experiences confirmed my vocation: languages and writing.
I was certainly caught up by my past and I am now a full-time freelance translator.

Work Terms
Project management requires accuracy and a perfect understanding of your scope and instructions.
Here is what I offer in terms of main steps:
1) Kick-off briefing to establish key requirements (objectives, expectations, format, milestones, email address to send the deliverable and eventually the preferred CAT or translation tool to be used.).
2) Client issues the source text preferably in word, excel, ppt, txt or pdf.
3) Content overview to understand the overall style I would need to keep in mind for the French translation.
4) Material translation.
5) Thorough proofreading: checking grammar, spelling, punctuation, syntax, meaning and adapting the writing style to the target audience to ensure a tailored to needs document.
6) Content delivery by the due date in the agreed format.
7) Client final review.
8) Free revisions if necessary.
9) Job completion
10) Payment.
- Very flexible hours of operation: anytime of the day between 6am and 8pm (UTC+1) any day of the week.
- Communication style: I prefer oral communication through phone calls or skype but I adjust to the client preferences.
- Payment terms: 30 days net after invoice date.
