About

I help manufacturers achieve CE compliance with clear, risk-based guidance, bridging engineering and regulations to reduce certification risk, avoid redesigns, and enable confident EU market

I am an electrical engineer and product compliance consultant with more than 20 years of experience across electronic development, industrial systems, and international product certification.
My professional journey began in hands-on engineering: designing electronic hardware, supporting R&D teams, and later building and validating production test systems for electronic and mechatronic products. This strong technical foundation shaped the way I approach compliance today, practically, realistically, and always grounded in how products are actually designed and built.
For the past 6+ years, I have focused primarily on product safety, CE conformity, and international compliance. I support manufacturers and OEMs in navigating EU regulatory requirements such as the Machinery Directive / Machinery Regulation, Low Voltage Directive, EMC Directive, and related harmonised standards, including EN ISO 12100, EN 60204-1, EN 60335-1, UL 62368-1, EN ISO 13849-1... My work often starts early in the product lifecycle, where the biggest value lies: identifying applicable legislation, clarifying responsibilities, assessing risks, and defining a clear compliance roadmap before costly testing or redesigns occur.
What clients value most is my risk-based, engineering-oriented approach. I do not treat compliance as a paperwork exercise. Instead, I help bridge the gap between engineering reality and regulatory expectations—reducing uncertainty, avoiding overengineering, and ensuring that safety concepts are both compliant and practical. I regularly collaborate with test laboratories (TÜV, UL, Intertek, SIQ), suppliers, and internal engineering teams to align technical decisions with certification requirements.
I particularly enjoy working with non-EU manufacturers exporting to Europe, helping them understand how CE marking works in practice and how to prepare defensible Technical Files and Declarations of Conformity.
On a personal level, I value clarity, honesty, and responsibility, qualities that are essential in safety and compliance work. Outside of consulting, I am passionate about outdoor sports, especially paragliding and cycling, which continuously remind me of the importance of risk awareness, preparation, and good decision-making principles that also define my professional mindset.
If you are looking for a consultant who understands both engineering and regulations, and who focuses on clear, defensible, and cost-effective compliance, I would be glad to support your project.

Work Terms

I work exclusively on a project basis, rather than on an open-ended hourly consulting basis. Each engagement begins with a clear definition of project goals, scope, deliverables, timeline, and a fixed price, all agreed upon before any work commences. This ensures transparency, alignment, and predictable outcomes.
Projects are structured around measurable deliverables, such as identification of applicable EU legislation and harmonised standards, compliance gap analysis, risk-based guidance, review of technical documentation, or preparation support for Technical Files and Declarations of Conformity. The agreed scope clearly defines what is included and what is not.
Pricing is fixed per project, based on complexity, risk level, and required depth of analysis. Payment is handled through the platform, with upfront or milestone-based payment agreed at project start. Any work outside the agreed scope is treated as a separately defined extension and requires prior agreement.
Work is executed in a structured, milestone-oriented manner, aligned with the agreed timeline. Timelines assume timely availability of required inputs; delays caused by missing information or late scope changes may affect delivery dates.
Communication is clear, professional, and documented. I prefer written communication for technical matters to ensure clarity and traceability, with short calls available for alignment or decision points when needed.
My focus is on risk-based, engineering-oriented compliance, delivering defensible results that reduce certification risk, avoid unnecessary redesigns, and support an efficient and confident EU market approach.
