About

Born in Santa Ana, El Salvador amidst the height of the civil war, Victor Segura was brought to the United States in 1981 by his parents. Fleeing the small Central American nation torn apart by the horrors of war, Mr. Segura’s family head north in search of peace and with the hopes of a better life.

Growing up in the United States as a first generation immigrant, Attorney Segura lived through the experiences that are common place for individuals from a different culture. In a country whose language and culture was not that of his family, Mr. Segura saw the struggles of his parents to succeed and achieve the “American Dream.” Overcoming cultural and language barriers and with the work ethic instilled from his parent’s struggles, Mr. Segura learned English as a Second Language at the young age of six and went on to achieve academic success.

Victor Segura graduated from the University of California at Riverside in 2002 with a Bachelor’s Degree of Arts in Philosophy and a Bachelor’s Degree of Arts in Political Science. With several semesters on the Dean’s Honor List throughout his undergraduate career at U.C Riverside, Mr. Segura was admitted to Western State University College of Law on an academic scholarship; where he later went on to obtain a Juris Doctor Degree at the age of 24.

While in Law School, Mr. Segura received the Witkin Award for Academic Achievement in the areas of Arbitration Law and Uniform Commercial Code Law. As a law student, Mr. Segura served as a volunteer for the Los Angeles Free Clinic Legal Department (no longer in existence).

Mr. Segura has served as a Volunteer Attorney for the Immigration Legal Assistance Project operated under the auspices of the Los Angeles County Bar Association. In addition, Mr. Segura has provided pro-bono services as a volunteer attorney for Deferred Action Clinics and has organized workshops and lectured at local community centers on immigration and family law issues.
