Traditional comic book artist and illustrator

Vladimir Petković was born in Belgrade (Serbia) in 1982.

From 1993. to 2006. he attended the school for illustration and comic design „Djordje Lobačev“, where he developed his drawing skills and acquired theoretical knowledge on illustration, comic drawing styles, and the history of comic art. From 2012. he is a member of the Association of Serbian Comic Artists (USUS).

After the studies, he began to work as an illustrator for the British horror&science-fiction magazine „Morpheus Tales“. Besides the internal illustrations, he designed several front pages for the magazine, as well. Collaboration with „Morpheus Tales“ lasted from 2009. to 2015.

From 2010. to 2019. he worked on the comic series „The Buffoons“ together with his longtime friends and associates – Serbian comic illustrator and comic artist, Marko Todosijević, better known as Mrvax, and Tihomir Kostić, a screenwriter. The episodes of the series were published independently (as self-published editions), but also within „The Parabellum“ comic magazine, issued in the Republic of Srpska (entity of Bosnia and Herzegovina).

In 2019. he collaborated with the Swedish progressive/adventure rock band – Hällas. He designed a comic episode inspired, and narratively based on Hällas` song ’’Shadow of the Templar’’.

He`s exhibited his works in many galleries and cultural centers in Serbia, within the exhibitions which presented the comic series „The Buffoons“, as well as part of the exhibitions organized by: „Djordje Lobačev“ studio, the Association of Serbian Comic Artists (USUS), and other organizations.
