Eco-Steward in collaboration with Sustainable Development. The environmental stewardship definition is essentially synonymous with that of ecological stewardship. An ecosystem is comprised of the dynamic interaction of the living (biotic) and non-living (abiotic) aspects of an environment.
The main purpose of environmental stewardship is to protect the resilience of crucial ecological processes, including those of flora, fauna, and atmosphere. Resilience is the ability of an ecosystem to recover to its original state after a disturbance or change. Disturbances include events such as natural disasters (fire, hurricane, flood, etc.), the introduction of an exotic invasive plant or animal species, or human impacts such as deforestation or mining.
