Musical composition for everyone!

Yagiz’s music adventure has begun in 2011 with private music courses he took and he has concentrated specifically on jazz guitar in accordance with his interest and talents. He has been into jazz music for some time during when he took to the stage. Same year, while he took part in Alegria Polyphonic Chorus and Polyphonic Youth Chorus of the Ministry of Culture of Turkish Republic, he was introduced to polyphonic music. He gained experience with domestic and foreign concerts in which he performed. Following this, he directed his interest of music to “composition” and decided to start conservatoire education. He started his education in the department of “Composition and Musical Theory” at the Gorvenment Conservatoire of Baskent University. In his first year, he had the opportunity to perform the works he composed for string quarted, cello, chorus, piano and guitar. He moved on with his preliminary orchestral conducting with Orhun Orhon.

While he was continuing his education, he was interested in Media Music (TV series/Movie/Theatrical play/Jingles). At this time, he took part in composing the musics of the U.K. movie “Meeting” with well-know pianist Emre Sen which has been his first artwork in composing international media music.
In 2017, he established a voluntary orchestra, Agora Youth Symphony Orchestra, himself being the founding conductor and coordinator. He is still performing in this orchestra.

In the first half of 2018, while developing his interest on media music, he took part in an experimental short film project with director Yigit Karaca and this short film has been awarded “the official selection” in the Cannes Film Festival. He also composed the game musics of “Rebirth”, a video game to be sold on “steam” as an independent producer.

In July 2018, he went to Vienna, Austria and had an opportunity to perform his works while attending a strings workshop with the students of MDW (University of Music and Performing Arts Vienna).
