Adding and Verifying Payment Methods


    There are a variety of ways to make payments on the site.

    Using check

    1. Write the Billing Code on the check.
    2. Make the check payable to “Guru.com”.
    3. Mail the check to:  Guru.com, Attn: Accounts Receivable 5001 Baum Blvd., Suite 760 Pittsburgh, PA 15213 USA.

    After the funds clear, we’ll credit the funds to your cash account. Please allow 3 to 5 business days for checks mailed within the U.S. and up to 3 weeks for checks mailed from outside the U.S. to arrive. Upon arrival, your check is deposited into our bank account where it is placed on a 3-day hold. After the 3-day hold, the funds are credited to the Cash Account. If your bank does not honor your check, you will be charged a $35 return fee.

    Credit Card

    To add your credit card:

    1. Log in and view your dashboard.
    2. Click “Payment Methods”.
    3. Click the blue “Add Payment Method” button.
    4. Choose “Add Credit Card” from the list.
    5. Fill in the credit card details.
    6. Click “Add Credit Card”
    7. Check your credit card statement for a random amount charged by us. The amount will be less than $3.95.  NOTE: if the credit card amount is in a currency other than US Dollars, you will need to contact the card issuer to get the amount charged in US Dollars
    8. Log back into your account.
    9. Click “Payment Methods”.
    10. Enter the amount in the field next to the blue “Verify” button.
    11. Click “Verify”.

    The verification amount that was charged to your credit card will be credited back to your credit card within 24 hours and should post to your credit card account within 5 business days. You can use your verified credit card to pay invoices, add Safepay funds, and add funds to your cash account for later use.

    E-check (U.S. bank accounts only)

    Your e-check account must be verified before using it to pay invoices, add SafePay funds or transfer funds into and out of your cash account. You earn 3% Cash back every time you make a payment or add funds using e-check.

    To add your e-check account:

    1. Click “Payment Methods” at the top of your dashboard.
    2. Click the blue “Add Payment Method” button.
    3. Choose “Add Bank Account” from the list.
    4. Fill in the required bank account information.
    5. Review the information you entered, our Terms of Service and Authorization Confirmation.
    6. Click “Authorize E-Check Account” and then “Ok”.

    After you submit your account information, we’ll deposit two small, random amounts of $0.25 or less to your bank account for validation. Within 3 business days, check with your bank to obtain these two amounts. Keep in mind, we can’t help you find the deposits. You must access your bank account to view them. If the validation deposits have not appeared in your bank account after 3 business days, contact us so we can resend the deposits.

    To verify your e-check account:

    1. Find the two account validation deposits in your bank account.
    2. Return to the Guru.com.
    3. Click “Payment Methods” at the top of your dashboard.
    4. Find your bank account from your list of payment methods.
    5. Enter the two deposit amounts and click the blue “Verify” button. Be sure to enter the amounts as .XX. For example, five cents would be entered as “.05″.

    If you enter the amounts incorrectly 3 times, your e-check account will be locked. Contact us for assistance. You can use your verified e-check account to pay invoices, add Safepay funds, and add funds to your cash account for later use. NOTE: If you have scheduled a transfer from your cash account using e-check, and you delete the e-check account, your transfer will be canceled. Please reschedule your transfer using a different payment method.

    PayPal

    Adding your PayPal account:

    1. Log into your account and view your dashboard.
    2. Click “Payment Methods”.
    3. Click the blue “Add Payment Method” button.
    4. Select “Add PayPal” from the dropdown.
    5. Log into your PayPal account and agree to the terms and conditions.

    You can use your PayPal account to pay invoices, add Safepay funds, and add funds to your cash account for later use. PayPal payments funded with a bank account or transactions that are investigated by PayPal may be delayed by up to 3 business days while the payment clears or while PayPal completes their investigation.

    NOTE: If you have scheduled a transfer from your cash account via PayPal and you delete the PayPal account, your transfer will be canceled. Please reschedule your transfer using a different payment method.

    Wire Transfer The cost per wire transfer depends on the origin of the funds:

    • $20 USD if funds are wired from a bank outside of the U.S.
    • $10 USD if funds are wired from a bank within the U.S.

    When determining the amount due, remember to check with your bank to determine their fees, the fees of any intermediary banks through which the funds may pass and any currency conversion fees.

    Amount: To determine the total amount due, add the appropriate fees to your payment amount and subtract any cash account funds you want to use.$20.00 USD if funds are wired from a bank outside of the U.S. $10.00 USD if funds are wired from a bank within the U.S.

    NOTE: Some banks charge their own additional fees for wire transfers. Ask your bank about any currency conversion, transfer or intermediary fees to account for them when funding your wire transfers.

    Reference area: List the Invoice ID, SafePay ID, or your billing code.

    NOTE: Please allow up to five business days for Guru.com to receive and process a wire transfer payment. You will receive an email when your payment arrives.

    Cash Account

    Your cash account serves as a kind of debit account for you on Guru.com. Any refunds or credits you receive through Guru.com will be added to this account.  You can also add funds by using any of the available payment methods. Funds in your cash account can be used to add SafePay funds and pay invoices.

    Withdrawing cash account funds:

    You can transfer funds out of your cash account back to the original payment source.

    To transfer funds out of your cash account:

    1. Log into the site and view the dashboard.
    2. Click “Cash Account” at the top right.
    3. Click “Withdraw” and enter the dollar amount you want to transfer.
    4. Click “Review Withdrawal.”
    5. Click “Withdraw Now.”

    NOTE: Transfers are processed and sent to your bank or PayPal account on Mondays through Fridays. For your funds to be sent on a specific day, you must request a transfer no later than midnight (ET) the night before. It generally takes two business days for the funds to be credited to your bank account. PayPal transfers are credited by 5 pm (ET) on the day the transfer is processed. Payments Days Transfers are processed and sent to your bank or PayPal account on Monday thru Friday. For your funds to be sent on a specific day, you must request a transfer no later than midnight (ET) the night before. If generally takes two business days for the funds to be credited to your bank account. PayPal transfers are credited by 5 pm (ET) on the day the transfer is processed.
