Project Overview:
We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced technical professional to fully set up and configure Amazon SES (Simple Email Service) for our email sending needs, integrated with Sendimail.io for email marketing and Cloudflare for DNS management. This is a comprehensive setup project that requires a deep understanding of all three platforms to ensure optimal performance, deliverability, and compliance.
Key Responsibilities:
The chosen freelancer will be responsible for the end-to-end setup and configuration, including but not limited to:
Amazon SES Setup:
- Full configuration of Amazon SES, including domain verification (DKIM, SPF, DMARC records).
- Requesting and ensuring removal of Amazon SES sending restrictions (moving out of the sandbox to production access) by providing all necessary justification and documentation to AWS.
- Setting up appropriate IAM users and policies for secure access.
- Configuring bounce, complaint, and delivery notifications (e.g., via SNS to SQS or CloudWatch).
- Implementing best practices for email deliverability and reputation management within SES.
Sendimail.io Integration:
- Seamless integration of Sendimail.io with the configured Amazon SES.
- Ensuring all necessary API keys, credentials, and settings are correctly established between Sendimail.io and SES.
- Testing email sending functionality from Sendimail.io through SES.
Cloudflare DNS Management:
- Configuring all required DNS records in Cloudflare for Amazon SES (MX, TXT for SPF/DKIM, CNAME, etc.).
- Ensuring proper DNS propagation and resolving any conflicts or issues.
- Optimizing Cloudflare settings for email deliverability and domain security.
Monitoring and Support (First Month):
- Setting up monitoring for SES sending limits, bounce rates, and complaint rates.
- Providing proactive support and troubleshooting during the first month post-setup to ensure full functionality, compliance, and address any unexpected issues.
- Offering guidance on maintaining good sending reputation and avoiding common pitfalls.
Required Skills & Experience:
- Proven expertise in Amazon SES setup, configuration, and optimization.
- Demonstrable experience with requesting and successfully obtaining production access (removing sandbox restrictions) for Amazon SES.
- Strong knowledge of email deliverability best practices (SPF, DKIM, DMARC, bounce handling, complaint feedback loops).
- Experience integrating email marketing platforms (specifically Sendimail.io preferred, or similar platforms) with Amazon SES.
- Expertise in Cloudflare DNS management and record configuration for email services.
- Excellent troubleshooting and problem-solving skills related to email infrastructure.
- Ability to communicate technical concepts clearly and effectively.
- Prior experience with monitoring tools and setting up alerts for email performance.
Deliverables:
- Fully configured and production-ready Amazon SES account.
- Seamlessly integrated Sendimail.io with Amazon SES.
- All necessary DNS records correctly configured in Cloudflare.
- Documentation of the setup and configuration process.
- Monitoring setup and reporting during the initial support phase.
