Wind Turbine Blade Composite Materials Feasibility Consultant
Summary
We are seeking a senior wind turbine blade composite materials specialist to conduct a technical feasibility evaluation of a nano-reinforcement additive (BNNB powder) intended for epoxy resin systems used in wind turbine blade laminates, particularly blade root structures.
Independent ASTM D2344 short-beam shear testing on woven carbon fiber laminates indicates:
~10% increase in interlaminar shear strength (7.40 ksi → 8.16 ksi)
~10% increase in maximum load capacity (114 lbf → 126 lbf)
~50% reduction in mechanical variability (COV reduced from 6.7% to 3.2%)
We are not seeking blade geometry design services. The objective is to obtain an expert assessment of:
- Whether a ~10% ILSS improvement is structurally meaningful in real blade root laminate design
- The relevance of reduced variability (COV) in OEM quality control and safety factors
- Potential impact on fatigue resistance and delamination behavior
- Compatibility with VARTM / infusion-based manufacturing processes
- Likely qualification hurdles within major Chinese and global wind blade OEMs
- Practical pathway for material adoption in a conservative, certification-driven industry
The ideal consultant will have:
- 10+ years experience in wind turbine blade composite materials or structural engineering
- Direct knowledge of blade root laminate design and reinforcement strategies
- Familiarity with inter-laminar failure modes and fatigue behaviour
- Experience with OEM validation, supplier qualification, and certification processes
- Insight into Chinese wind turbine blade manufacturing practices
This engagement will begin as a technical feasibility review and may expand into validation planning, formulation guidance, and pilot-scale integration strategy.
In addition to the technical feasibility engagement, we are open to establishing a long-term collaboration with the right consultant.
If you have existing relationships with wind blade OEMs, tier suppliers, or composite manufacturing partners and are able to introduce qualified, project-driven opportunities, we are prepared to structure a performance-based commission arrangement.
We will provide:
- Material supply and formulation guidance
- Application support and problem-solving assistance
- Direct technical engagement with the client’s engineering team
Introductions must be relevant and project-oriented. We are seeking serious technical evaluation opportunities within wind blade manufacturing—not general referrals or speculative contacts.
Compensation structure for project-based introductions can be discussed confidentially based on scope and level of involvement.
