Estimator (Stractural Scope of Work)

1. Concrete and Formwork (CSI Division 03)
Volume Calculations: Calculate the total cubic yards/meters of concrete required for footings, columns, beams, and floor slabs.
Formwork Estimation: Quantify the square footage of contact area (SFCA) for timber or steel forms, including oiling and stripping costs.
Reinforcement (Rebar): Perform a detailed take-off of rebar by linear footage, converting it into tons or kilograms based on bar size (#10, #16, #25, etc.), including hooks, bends, and overlaps.
2. Structural Steel (CSI Division 05)
Tonnage Take-off: Identify all wide-flanges (W-shapes), I-beams, channels, and angles from the framing plans and schedules.
Connection Materials: Estimate the weight and cost of gusset plates, bolts, welding rods, and base plates.
Surface Treatment: Calculate the square footage for sandblasting, shop priming, or fireproof coating (intumescent painting).
3. Masonry and Earthworks (Substructure)
Foundation Excavation: Calculate the volume of "cut and fill" required for the building footprint, including shoring and dewatering costs.
CHB (Concrete Hollow Blocks): Quantify the number of blocks for load-bearing walls, including the volume of mortar and grout for the cells.
4. Specialized Structural Elements
Pre-cast/Pre-stressed: Scope out costs for pre-cast planks, double-tees, or post-tensioning cables if the design is not cast-in-place.
Truss Systems: Measure the linear footage of roof trusses and purlins, including sag rods and cross-bracing.
