Wanted: WordPress Developer — BuddyBoss + Gravity Forms Assessment Integration (Access, Scoring Display & User Storage)
Project Overview
We run a nonprofit community platform built on BuddyBoss Platform (WordPress) and have a fully built, scored self-assessment in Gravity Forms (16 sections, three-tier scoring including primary, cluster, and divergent scoring). We need an experienced developer to connect these two systems so that each community member can securely access, complete, and permanently view their own assessment results from within their BuddyBoss profile — without ever touching the WordPress admin.
This is a well-scoped, clearly defined integration project for someone who already knows both platforms and can move efficiently without a long ramp-up.
What You’ll Be Building
1. Access-code gate — configure a code-entry step (using GP Submit to Access or an equivalent gating plugin) so a member must enter a valid, single-use unlock code tied to their enrollment/purchase before the assessment form becomes available to them.
2. User-to-entry linkage — ensure every submitted Gravity Forms entry is reliably tied to the specific logged-in BuddyBoss member who submitted it, using the Gravity Forms User Registration Add-on or a properly configured hidden field capturing the user ID.
3. Results storage and display — build a GravityView (GravityKit) View of the assessment form with the Advanced Filter Extension configured so each member only ever sees their own entry, then embed that View inside a custom BuddyBoss profile tab (e.g., “My Assessment Results”).
4. Headline summary field (optional but preferred) — use an automation tool (Uncanny Automator, Bit Integrations, or custom hook) to write one or two key result values (e.g., primary type, overall score band) into a BuddyBoss/BuddyPress xProfile field so a short summary is visible on the general profile, separate from the full results tab.
5. End-to-end testing — verify the full loop: registration, code redemption, form completion and scoring, and confirmation that results persist and display correctly on return visits, across desktop and mobile.
Requirements
• Demonstrated, verifiable experience building custom BuddyBoss Platform integrations (not just theme styling) — please share past project examples or a portfolio link.
• Strong working knowledge of Gravity Forms, including calculation fields, conditional logic, and the User Registration Add-on.
• Experience with GravityKit, specifically GravityView and the Advanced Filter Extension.
• Comfortable writing custom PHP snippets/hooks to register BuddyBoss profile tabs (e.g., using bp_core_new_nav_item or equivalent) since this is not a native, point-and-click feature of either platform.
• Familiarity with at least one form-to-community automation tool (Uncanny Automator or Bit Integrations) is a strong plus.
• Clear, responsive communicator who can explain technical tradeoffs in plain language, since this is a nonprofit team without in-house developers.
Deliverables
• Fully functional access-code gate on the assessment page.
• Verified user-to-entry linkage for every submission.
• A working, private “My Assessment Results” profile tab visible only to the logged-in member viewing their own data.
• Documentation (even brief) of what was configured and where, so our team can maintain it going forward.
• A short walkthrough call or recorded video demonstrating the finished flow.
