Our solution is building tools to pull cultural and engagement signals across top social media platforms. Right now, we only have YouTube data for our own account—we need someone who knows how to access public data from other people’s accounts across multiple platforms (legally, via APIs or third-party services).

What We’re Looking For

A freelancer with deep knowledge of social media data access—not just coding against one API, but understanding:

  • Which data you can/can’t get from each platform.

  • How official API tiers work (limits, pricing, restrictions).

  • Where third-party vendors or social listening tools are needed.

  • Best practices for staying compliant with platform terms.

Platforms of Interest

  • X (Twitter) – API tiers, streams, archives.

  • Meta (Facebook, Instagram, Threads) – Graph API, Meta Content Library, hashtag/data limits.

  • TikTok – Research API, Business/Marketing endpoints.

  • Reddit – Paid API model & access.

  • LinkedIn – What’s possible vs what’s locked down.

  • Snapchat, Pinterest, Twitch, Discord – Any viable public data feeds.

  • YouTube – (we already use this, but could improve).

Deliverables

  • A clear breakdown per platform: what data is accessible, how to get it, costs/limits, and any compliance issues.

  • Recommend fastest path to an MVP: which APIs we can use directly vs which require third-party vendors.

  • (Optional, if skilled) Help set up a basic test script or pipeline for 1–2 platforms (Python preferred).

Ideal Freelancer

  • Strong background in social API work or social listening tools.

  • Experience with multiple platforms (not just one).

  • Can communicate clearly—what’s possible now and what’s not.

  • Bonus if you’ve worked with data brokers (e.g., Brandwatch, Meltwater, NewsWhip).

Scope & Budget

  • Short-term research + advisory project (initially).

  • May extend into ongoing integration work if fit is strong.
