Laravel Developer for A.i. Builds

Job Overview
We are building an AI-powered Applicant Tracking System (ATS) that processes bulk resume uploads, extracts candidate data using AI, and scores candidates automatically.
We already have a working Laravel-based system, but we need a senior-level developer to refactor and harden the backend into a scalable, production-ready pipeline.
This is NOT a beginner project. We are specifically looking for someone who has built real-world, high-volume backend systems.

Scope of Work
You will be responsible for upgrading and refactoring our current Laravel system, specifically around:

Core Responsibilities
Refactor resume processing into a scalable job pipeline
Convert current batch job → fan-out architecture (1 resume = 1 job)
Implement Laravel Bus::batch() or equivalent
Build a robust database layer
Design and implement resumes table
Track status (pending, processing, completed, failed)
Store parsed + AI-enriched data
Implement idempotency
Prevent duplicate resume processing using file hashing
Secure and optimize ZIP file handling
Prevent Zip Slip vulnerabilities
Add limits on extraction (file count, size)
Validate file types (PDF/DOCX only)
Add retry + fault tolerance
Backoff strategies for jobs
Graceful handling of AI/API failures
Improve AI integration layer
Validate AI responses
Handle malformed outputs
Optimize prompt + parsing flow
Decouple and harden external integrations
Google Sheets
Dropbox (or similar storage)
Implement structured logging + monitoring
Laravel Horizon (preferred)
Proper logging for debugging and analytics

Preferred Candidate (IMPORTANT)
We are prioritizing developers who are not just coders, but A.I. expert operators.

Ideal candidates:
Have hands-on experience with OpenAI, Anthropic, or similar LLMs
Understand prompt engineering + structured outputs
Have built AI-driven workflows or automation systems
Can think in terms of AI pipelines, not just API calls

Have no experience with queues or background jobs
Have not worked with AI APIs
Are junior or mid-level without system design experience
