Structural Engineer / Steel Detailer / Drafting Lead
We are developing a proprietary steel truss and building system utilizing angle steel profiles, gusset plate connections, and HUCK BOM or equivalent structural fastening systems.
We are seeking an experienced Structural Engineer with strong steel design and detailing capabilities to help develop standardized structural systems for residential, commercial, agricultural, and industrial buildings.
The position combines structural design, connection design, steel detailing, and manufacturing integration.
ResponsibilitiesStructural Design
Design steel trusses fabricated from angle steel sections.
Perform structural analysis and member sizing for varying spans and loading conditions.
Design gusset plate connections, splice connections, bracing systems, and bolted assemblies.
Develop efficient structural systems optimized for fabrication and field assembly.
Create standard truss families and repeatable structural designs.
Engineering & Analysis
Experience with:
Wind load analysis
Snow load analysis
Seismic load considerations
Dead and live load calculations
Steel member design
Buckling and stability analysis
Connection design
Structural optimization
Detailing & Drafting
Produce fabrication drawings and shop drawings.
Generate CNC-ready production drawings where applicable.
Create bills of materials.
Develop assembly drawings and erection drawings.
Coordinate detailing with manufacturing requirements.
Standards Knowledge
Must be familiar with structural steel design principles and engineering practices commonly used in North America, including experience working with projects designed to satisfy U.S. and Canadian building requirements.

NBCC
Software Experience
