Project Overview

We are seeking an experienced textile, lingerie, or technical apparel specialist to develop a functional prototype of a women’s moulded-cup T-shirt bra made from natural materials and natural  non-toxic dyes.

A reference bra will be provided. The objective is not to redesign the product, but to replicate its design and performance using natural materials and natural non-toxic dyes wherever technically feasible.

Scope

The appointed consultant/development partner will have end-to-end responsibility for the project, from the initial assessment through prototype delivery, including:

  • Selecting and sourcing suitable natural materials for all bra components.
  • Identifying technically viable natural alternatives to conventional materials and components.
  • Developing moulded cup solutions using natural fibres and materials.
  • Working with specialist suppliers, manufacturers, and technical experts where required.
  • Developing, testing, and refining prototypes to meet the agreed performance and comfort criteria.
  • Managing the project to deliver the agreed outcomes within the defined scope and timeline.

Deliverables

  • A fully functional physical prototype.
  • Complete technical specifications.
  • Bill of Materials (BOM).
  • Patterns and construction details.
  • Production and manufacturing guidelines  notes.
  • Documentation of all materials, dyes, technologies, and processes used.
  • Full documentation of the materials, dyes, finishes, technologies, and production processes used.
  • Testing results and recommendations for further development

Ideal Candidate:

Proven experience in lingerie development, textile engineering, technical apparel development, or a closely related field, with a strong understanding of natural fibers, materials, and manufacturing processes.

Success will be measured by the delivery of a fully functional prototype that closely replicates the fit, comfort, support, and appearance of the supplied reference bra while replacing synthetic materials with natural fibers, natural components, and non-toxic dyes wherever technically feasible.

Applicants should include:

  • A brief description of their proposed technical approach.
  • An estimated project timeline with key milestones.
  • A detailed budget, including any anticipated external development or manufacturing costs.
  • Relevant examples of comparable projects or technical expertise.
