I am a native English speaker and a recent graduate from the University of Houston ( Main Campus ) . I received my degree in Corporate Communications and minored in English . My college education has taught me the most fundamental and crucial elements of communications . I have learned the communication process , as well as the things that can hinder its effectiveness. I have also learned and studied the various communication theories and have learned public speaking and the More specifically in my writing, I strive to write in both a clear and concise manner . I attempt to write things as how I would want to read something . The purpose of writing, revisions and explanations , is not to leave people with more confusion than when they already started . Words should have a point and proceed towards a certain goal . As an intern at Blafflers Art Museum at the University of Houston , I was charged with the task of facilitating communications . I worked on things like documents , pamphlets. I also engaged in advertising, research and marketing . I participated in content writing ,technical writing and event management . My intern group at Blaffer , was also responsible for 2016 The Red Block Bash : Art Event . We had to manage the budget , come up with interactive art events and find and decide on other entertainment outlets. The day of the art event , each of the three intern members were on a set management schedule block . In any given block someone had to firmly take charge. This meant keeping pace with signing people up for the art club , explaining games , telling of upcoming event guest speakers and directing people to art tours . A lot of hard work and effort went into planning that one special day . Another event that I participated in was The UH Public Art Day of 2016. The interns as well as the Blaffer staff spent hours setting up for the event. This event unlike the Red Block Bash Event ( that was only for UH students) was for the community members. As an Intern , I not only content wrote for the event activities but , I communicated to those children and parents who sought further guidance and help . A lot of the work that I completed as an intern , had to be precise and concise . Other departments at Blaffer Art Museum were dependent upon my findings . They were not content with mediocrity and so it just had to be right .
