I create indexes for books to be published. This requires a close reading of the text and identifying key concepts. I also keep an eye out for typos and other minor errors as a courtesy service. My rate for average-length books (200-300 typeset pages) is $3.50/pg, although I can be flexible depending on what your budget is and how dense the material is. I'm particularly experienced with indexing scholarly books in the social sciences and humanities, but can apply my skills to any type of book.
