Social networking sites were abuzz with the story of a Brazilian family whose family members have 6 fingers, which became famous for the first time in 2014.

 This is not the first time that social media pioneers have talked about this strange family of its kind. This family, which feels proud of having a sixth finger on its hand, has been buzzing with news for previous years, and they have become the talk of social media because of the rarity of their condition.

 The “six” family

 The Brazilian "De Silva" family is proud of its unusual characteristics, as its members grow six fingers on each hand and foot, instead of five.  This family has so far 14 members, all of whom have six fingers, until it became known as the “Family of Six.”  “This is a sign that no other family has,” said Abi Alessandro, one of the family members.

 The genetic syndrome that causes people to be born with extra toes and toes is known as poly da catelli syndrome, and surprisingly, it is about one in every thousand births, meaning it is common.

 It should be noted that this family never encounters difficulty in doing their daily affairs, and that this is not an obstacle for them, and the family expresses their happiness with this matter, as one of its members says, “The most wonderful thing about having six fingers is the ability to hold several things at the same time.”
