I do business analysis, write business proposals and respond to RFPs everyday.
I have been in marketing and business development since 1990. I write proposals on Telecom, IT, ITS (Intelligent Transit Systems), Education, Security & Surveillance products and services. I have also worked on RFPs in business process outsourcing (BPO), training and skill development, public peaking, legal, accounting, pharma, research, public utilities, non-profits, and many more.
MY RFP SKILLS
1. Finding the right opportunities -
- visiting RFP sites to explore the business opportunities;
- registering business to RFP sites for regular notifications and updates;
- shortlist RFPs and creating a plan to compile the responses;
- creating an RFP Project Timeline;
- reviewing outcomes from pre-bid conferences;
- seeking clarifications and requesting for extensions, as required.
2. Creating the Response
- reviewing the RFP requirements and preparing the first draft;
- tracking amendments on the RFP sites, as and when they are published;
- collaborating with RFP team (if applicable) to create the response, leading to the final draft.
3. Submit the proposal and track progress.
4. Creating and maintaining a proposal repository for future references.
MY RFP EXPERIENCE
- I have worked on RFPs from the federal, state and local administrations for the US, Canada, UK, Saudi Arabia, UAE, India and a few more African nations, including Malawi, DRC, Nigeria.
- I have also worked on RFPs from organizations affiliated to the United Nations and on several projects that were funded by the World Bank and Asian Development Bank (ADB projects).

- I have been a web marketer for more than 10 years and contributed in SEO, SEM, Social Media projects involving research and content development;
- I have 28+ years of experience as a technical and business proposal writer and in business development activities;
- I have worked on and managed large, complex projects (field projects) at various times in my career.
