Current Duties and Responsibilities as a Clerical Officer in an Academic Institution entails: 1. Answering and directing phone calls. 2. Making phone calls. 3. Taking and distributing messages. 4. Organizing and scheduling appointments. 5. Organizing and coordinating meetings. 6. Handling inquiries and incoming work requests. 7. Reviewing files and records to answer requests for information. 8. Checking and distributing documents and correspondence. 9. Receiving, sorting and distributing incoming mail. 10. Maintaining filing systems. 11. Compiling records of office activities. 12. Photocopying, scanning and faxing. 13. Sending emails. 14. Preparing and sending outgoing mailings and packages. 15. Typing documents and correspondence. 16. Checking and entering data. 17. Updating and maintaining databases. 18. Coordinating work flow. 19. Controlling basic accounting functions such as checking invoices and making deposits. 20. Managing petty cash. 21. Monitoring and ordering inventory of office supplies. 22. Keeping office area neat and tidy. Education and Experience 1. Knowledge of relevant software applications including MS Office. 2. Proficient in use of email and internet. 3. Good numeracy skills. 4. Accurate keyboard skills. 5. Knowledge of office management systems and procedures. 6. Knowledge of administrative procedures. 7. Knowledge of basic accounting procedures. 8. I have a College Diploma in Information and Technology. Key Competencies and Skills 1. Organizational and planning. 2. Time management skills and the ability to prioritize work. 3.
