PhD-qualified climate resilience and disaster risk reduction specialist with 20+ years of international development experience across Pakistan and South Asia, including direct delivery for the World Bank, the Asian Disaster Preparedness Center (ADPC), and UN agencies (IOM, UNITAR, UNEP, UNESCO, UNDP).
Most recently, I led the Pakistan-based capacity-building component of the World Bank-financed "CARE for South Asia" programme (US$39.5M) as National Training Consultant with ADPC — designing and delivering 17 trainings that built the capacity of ~800 government officials across 3 provinces in integrated water resources management, climate-smart agriculture, and climate policy and finance.
What I can offer:
- Climate change adaptation & DRR programme, training, and curriculum design (including Training-of-Trainers)
- Policy studies, technical guidelines, and post-disaster needs assessment support for government and donor-funded projects
- Water resources/hydrology technical input where a project needs it (HEC-RAS, HEC-HMS, EPANET, WaterGEMS)
- Research and knowledge products — 40+ peer-reviewed publications, 1 edited Springer Nature volume
I work with consulting and engineering firms, NGOs, and companies that need a technically credible partner for climate, DRR, or resilience-related work — from a stand-alone technical study through to full programme or training design. Happy to discuss your project. Additionally,
- Water Resources Engineering & Hydrology Modelling (HEC-RAS, EPANET, WaterGEMS)
- EIA/ESIA & Environmental Compliance Studies (motorways, RLNG, housing)
- Training & Curriculum Design for Government and Disaster-Management Programmes
- EU Taxonomy & ESG Sustainability Assessment
