Your writing project goes through various editing stages that may or may not be combined, depending on the editor(s). At the copy editing stage, we review your document—which has already been edited for structure and style—for detailed adjustments such as typos, grammar and punctuation errors, and consistency (both internal and with the brand style guide). I have nearly a decade of experience in copy editing; most recently, I spent years as a freelance English Editor for the international journal publisher MDPI. I possess excellent attention to detail and a well-honed grasp of English grammar, as well as the ability to quickly incorporate the various expectations of formats such as Canadian, British, and American English and APA and Chicago style.
We'll first hop on a discovery call to clarify the current state of your project (at which point I can offer structural or line editing instead, see listing) and review any style and branding documentation your organization has already developed.
I'll then dive into the project. A standard contract includes one round of revisions after my initial submission of a draft with tracked changes.
