Hello, My name is Ronald Wray and I am a graphic designer, photographer and web designer and I hold a bachelors degree in web and graphic design from DeVry University in Chicago. I have four years of design experience mostly working with different internships and freelance clients that I cater to on a daily basis. Growing up in Chicago as a kid I never really knew what I wanted to do when I got older. When I was eight years old my parents asked me “would you want to go to college or get a job right after high school? ” Not knowing what college was I automatically said college. Fourteen years later I realized that I had made the right decision and stuck to my words and went to college. Mixing my knowledge in computers and art was always a mix of my daily life as a teenager. I would come home every day and go on the computer and just make cool interesting design concepts. Once I became a junior in high school that is when I knew that becoming a graphic designer would suit my dreams, goals and set me off on a great career path. I always said “I never wanted a job where it wasn’t fun.” Graphic design was a passion that did not just come over night. When I was seven, my sisters had a impact on how I developed a love of both areas in technology and the artistic side of me. My younger sister who graduated at DeVry University, had a interest in computer programming, while my older sister had a great skill in drawing. Reflecting those two areas they had, it rubbed off on me and was something that I believed that helped me get into graphic design. I got into computers more when I was eight years old. I didn’t know how to type, which was not the best skill I had at the time. That did not stop me from understanding different software. I remember watching Youtube videos of Photoshop tutorials and learning about layers, typography, textures, and brushes. Those terms were the basic skills and mindset that I quickly picked up. When I was a junior in high school that is when I took design more seriously. Taking art as an elective, my art teacher Mrs. Thompson who I still know to this day, had a great impact on how I pursued my goal of becoming a graphic designer. I was always given projects where I focused on what art and design meant to me. I had an eye for detail, my vision and how I saw a project right before I would start on drawing a concept, everything, came together. By the end of my junior year I realized college was approaching faster than I thought. When senior year rolled around I took art again as an elective. I knew if I wa
