I have spent the past 30 years in educational, industrial and research positions related to computers, programming and writing. I began in 1982 with Apple II+s - both my own and those at East Tennessee State. I taught myself Applesoft basic, machine language, and FORTRAN. I built my first interface and developed an interface and counter card for the Universities photoelectric photometer. I went on to graduate school at Vanderbilt University where I continued to develop software programming for the Physics and Astronomical department.In 1986 I went on to the University of Pittsburgh where I continued to use my computer skills to assist a team of Astronomers searching for extra solar planets,In the new millennium Rheumatoid Arthritis ended my research career and I switched to technical writing at various internet companies in and around Pittsburgh.I began working with Apple II's when I had to use a personal tape recorder to save my data and programs.
