Hi! Exploring and working with data is my passion. I have both the theoretical knowledge and the practical skills to import, clean, manipulate, visualize, analyze, store, and present data in all kinds, shapes, and forms. I love data and I constantly strive to perfect my skills in using tools that help in every step of this pipeline. I have a 7+ years of programming experience of varying degrees with Python, JavaScript/CoffeeScript, HTML, CSS, C#, Lua/MoonScript, Matlab, and R. ?y main expertise is in Python where my skills are at a senior level. I am familiar with the ins and outs of the language, including the entire standard library and most of its modules. I have expertise in external libraries and frameworks for web scraping (Requests, Beautiful Soup, Scrapy), data representation/manipulation (NumPy, Pandas, NetworkX, SQLAlchemy), machine learning and math (scikit-learn, PyMC, Chainer, TensorFlow, Edward, SciPy, SymPy), data visualization (Matplotlib, Seaborn, Bokeh, amCharts), backend (Django, Node.js, SQL/NoSQL, Nginx, Celery), and natural language processing (NLTK, SpaCy). I also have a strong mathematical background with experience and deep understanding of concepts and techniques in linear algebra, calculus, probability theory, Bayesian data analysis, machine learning, time series analysis, digital signal processing, neural networks, differential equations, and abstract algebra. My early educational background is in psychology and cognitive science from which I later transitioned to neuroscience and machine learning. I have a master’s degree in cognitive neuroscience with specialization in brain networks and neuronal communication. My program’s focus was on neuroscience research and data science related advanced mathematical training. Throughout my education, I gained extremely valuable theoretical and practical skills in working with time series and digital signals with different temporal resolutions coming from sources like fMRI, EEG, MEG, implanted electrodes, and so on. I practiced cleaning, resampling, manipulating, and analyzing data (including my own) on a daily basis. For the past 3+ years I’ve been working in the private sector as a data scientist. However, the companies I worked for also had a significant focus on web development, which allowed me to acquire a solid background in both frontend and backend technologies. The latter were the last missing pieces from my data science toolkit. The world of data fascinates me and I am looking forward to new projects and challenges!
