I use SAS, R, or Excel to visualize data and analyze its contents for consistency and reliability. I also use the same tools to run regression analyses on the data. I have done this type of work for many years and have conducted many research projects with these tools. On one project, by looking at the non-market characteristics of pears, I was able to increase the Christmas Holiday Season profits of one pear shipping company by several million dollars when he utilized the results of my work in his pricing policies On other projects, concerning the competitive position of US apples and oranges in overseas markets, the growers and shippers were able to use the results of my studies to also price their products more effectively and both increase their profits and increase their market shares of the major US overseas markets for their products.. I also use these types of analytical skills to examine the effectiveness of programs. This helps policy makers determine if the programs should be continued as they are, expanded, or discontinued.
