Vinicius Peixoto, aka Vinas Peixoto, is a musician (drummer / percussionist), musical producer and audio engineer. He started playing at the age of 11, and at 15 he was already working on nightclubs and ballrooms in Sao Paulo and on studio recording sessions. Few years later, he started his instructional activity and got his first students. As a musician or producer, he already shared his skills with great names of the music, like: Dominguinhos, Zé Keti, Oswaldinho da Cuica, Elza Soares, Andreas, Kisser, Ricardo Giuffrida, Duca Belintani, Airto Moreira e Flora Purim, Vange Milliet, Banda Black Rio original, Theo Werneck, Suzana Salles, Paulo Freire (Brazil). He toured and participate in recording sessions in USA, Canada, Argentina, France, Portugal, Spain and Belgium, working with: Mark Allisson (USA), Scotty Hardy (USA - Bjork; Arto Lindsay; Medeski, Martin and Wood), Bernard Fines (France), Gilbert Mulamba (Congo), Josie Vie (Canada), Jeff Coffin (USA - Dave Matthews Band / Bela Fleck), Jimmy Parrish (USA). He also recorded live percussion for many EDM projects, working with DJs from England, Sweden, Norway, Ukraine and Romania. In 2004, he joined the composer, director and video maker Kleber Mazziero, and recorded the soundtrack for the musical theatre “O Futebol”, written and conceived by the famous soccer player Sócrates. In 2006, it was adapted as a cinema movie. Also in cooperation with Kleber, he composed and wrote the soundtrack for the documentary "Tambores de Andrade", rescuing the research of the anthropologist Mario de Andrade about Brazilian rhythms. Since 2015, he develops his music producer works on his own recording studio, VP Estudios, in São Paulo. Various services are provided both for artistic as commercial proposes, including: audio recording, edition, mixing, mastering, soundtrack composing, movies for web content and voice talents. Another strand of his work is the research and collection of rhythms and percussion instruments worldwide. His personal collection contains more than 2000 rhythms classified, thousands of pictures and hundreds of live performance videos. Vinas is the author of many materials dedicated to music instruction. In 1999, he released his first book, “Djembe and West African Rhyhtms”. In 2001, he recorded an instructional video about Bongo and Latin percussion, “Bongo – Ritmos e Fundamentos”, with more 10.000 copies sold in Brazil, Latin America, Portugal and Spain. In 2015, he launched “The Percussion Books” collection, composed by 15 books about general percussion, with 7 volumes already published. Vinas also works as a voice talent, voicing advertisings, e-books, web content, training courses and more. He is also graduated in Mechanical Engineering, specialized in Acoustics and NVH, and also has a MBA in Business Strategy. He works also as a technical consultant and product specialist for many music instruments companies, and is an engineer consultant for acoustic and sounding projects.
