Earthquake Syria and Turkey

$20/hr Starting at $25

The Director General of the Seismological Center, Dr. Raed Ahmed, confirmed that the aftershocks that occur mean that the danger is exceeded.

In response to what is being circulated on social media, that Iran may witness an earthquake larger than the one that occurred a few days ago in Turkey and Syria, he told “Athar”: “We do not have to believe everything we have heard if we ourselves are concerned and specialists are not able  To talk about such a subject,” adding: “The Turkey earthquake index is from 2010-2012, and there are studies and articles documenting that.”

Ahmed denied what was circulated that the aftershocks portend a larger earthquake, adding to “Athar”: “The aftershocks are weak and will remain for weeks, and based on our records, they can reach a full year, during which more than 30,000 transient and not frightening geological events will occur (just very light tremors)  ;  But we say for weeks until we reduce the intensity.

Ahmed added to “Athar”: “Currently, there are no tremors at the eastern Mediterranean fault (Dead Sea), that is, there are no noticeable tremors at the fault itself, and the tremors that occurred in the Antioch and Alexandretta regions.  There are no tremors nor any activity on it;  Rather, we have potential energy activity that has been moving for years, and this is true, but when it appears, we do not know, but the link between them is not presently possible.

And he continued: “The tremor occurred and was concentrated in this area, which means that we have a defect, and in order for this defect to stabilize, it requires time from us;  Here, there is no need to escalate conditions and prepare people for other things that no one knows about.”

Dr. Raed Ahmed, Director General of the Earthquake Monitoring Center, concluded his speech to “Athar”, saying: “Scientifically, we cannot absolutely refuse that an earthquake or earthquake will not occur, and this also we cannot confirm at present,” continuing: “For the third day in a row, the tremors have become close to  Latakia, and we record 2-2.3, and it will continue for days or weeks, whether we like it or not, and I can say that since the beginning of the earthquake, the outcome of the aftershocks has reached 97, measuring 4.5 degrees, in the area that I care about, and not in the Turkish center.
