I've trained over the years to prioritize the user-experience and therefore make tools in Excel that others can enjoy using without need of significant training. This isn't to say these tools are not advanced, complex, and capable of solving more difficult scenarios, but a tool is only worth having if it can be used by employees with a basic level of experience in Excel.
