This is what I’ll do for your manuscript (MS)
1) You will receive a line edit: This looks at the work's organization and presentation. It involves tightening and clarifying at a chapter, scene, paragraph, and sentence level. Line editing deals with the actual prose: word choice, rhythm, syntax, and overall strength of each sentence. When doing a line edit, I look for flaws in the MS such as inconsistencies in timelines, history, facts, and so on.
2) You will receive a copy edit: Copy editing focuses on fixing editorial issues: spelling, grammar, tense, and punctuation.
3) You will receive proofreading: The goal of proofreading is to create consistency in style and technically accurate language, making sure that punctuation is being properly used so the rhythm and pacing of sentences are at their best, creating a polished work that is a smooth professional read.
