GLAM STAR This is England Cynthia actres

$25/hr Starting at $25

THIS IS ENGLAND star Jo Hartley looks worlds away from her Cynthia Fields character on the iconic film series.

The 2006 movie starring Stephen Graham and Vicky McClure - is one of the most popular British films of the last 20 years.

It went on to have three TV sequels: This Is England ‘86, This Is England ‘88 and This Is England ‘90.

It’s been 15 years since Jo starred alongside Line of Duty favourites Stephen and Vicky and also, Thomas Turgoose, Joe Gilgun and Andrew Shim in the drama.

Jo played Cynthia in This is England and continues to be a regular on our telly screens.

Born in Lancashire, Jo trained in acting but started her career in the aviation industry, first as a secretary at British Aerospace and then as a flight attendant for British Airways.

She’s appeared in countless TV shows during the last decade, including Waterloo Road, Law & Order: UK, Vera and biopic Eddie the Eagle.

The 50-year-old is a regular collaborator with Ricky Gervais, starring in the 2016 film David Brent: Life on the Road and popular Netflix series After Life.

Jo who portrayed June on After Life teased that the cast could “definitely do more” with the sitcom in the future.

Speaking at a press event, Jo and her on-screen partner Lenny - played by Tony Clay - opened up on filming the final season.

"I was watching it last night and I was like, ‘We could definitely do more'," she said.

“I didn't think about it when I was filming, I just went in and enjoyed the present moment.

“I tried not to think about what was coming or whatever - I tried to just really enjoy and savour it all.”

Jo also added: “I know that we'll all work with Ricky again, he said it the other night.

“I think he's finished it at the right time, but I think he could do a Christmas special.”

Ricky has previously said that he won't rule out making another series - but only if Netflix keeps putting money on the table.

Jo isn't the only This Is England star who looks different form their on-screen days – with her onscreen son Shaun Fields, played by Thomas Turgoose – also looking noticeably different.

The movie also starred Rosamund Hanson, Andrew Ellis, Perry Benson, George Newton, Jack O’Connell, Kieran Hardcastle, Chanel Cresswell, Danielle Watson, Sophie Ellerby, Kriss Dosanjh, Michael Socha, Frank Harper and Hannah Walters.
