An index improves the usability of your book, documents, or web site.
My approach is dedicated to meeting the needs of the readers while accommodating your deadlines, page limits, and priorities. Using professional indexing software, I make the index conform to your style guide and specifications. And if you don’t have a style guide, I will make one that works best for the type of information and the prospective audience.
Over the years I have learned to be empathetic with my customers. As an indexer, I use this skill to put myself in the place of the reader; a good index is always written for the reader's point of view.
I have a Masters in Business Administration and a Bachelor of Science (First Class Honours) and I am a graduate of the course "Indexing: Theory and Application" from the University of California Berkeley. I am a member of the Indexing Society of Canada / Société canadienne d’indexation (ISC/SCI) and a member of the executive committee.
My indexing specialties are biography and memoir, business, food and cookbooks, gardening, history, science, technology, and travel.
I also offer proofreading services alone or in conjunction with indexing.
Are you a new author? You may be wondering how to work with an indexer. I invite you to visit my website and download my free ebook "How to Get an Index for Your Book: A Step by Step Guide for Authors".
